Education is important, and much of education is dependent on reading. Often children will not know they have bad eye sight until they are behind other students in reading.
Once a year the Burney Lions Club provides electronic eye scanning to every student in the East Burney Elementary School. The scan is easy and safe, determining if a student needs glasses or if the student’s current glasses still provide optimum performance.
The SPOT eye exam only requires the student to sit looking at the device for a few seconds. Along with general information about the eyes that can help find problems with sight, a picture of retina of each eye is saved to be looked at by an optometrist.
